LOWER UNIT GEARCASE. FITS V-4 JOHNSON OR EVINRUDE. YEAR MODELS 1988-1994 It has a 20" shaft
Will this fit an outboard Johnson 120 looper? What lenth shaft do I have?

But I am looking for a lower unit and someone told ne that a 120 looper needed a v6 lower unit

I would need the model number of your engine to be able to tell you the shaft length.
If your engine is also a 20" model the gearcase will fit with no problems. They used the same gearcase.

I found something that says Loopeer CD4 and underneath that are the numbers 113-4041. Is that enough to get the shaft length?

The model numbner of the engine is on the outside of the boat on the port side transom bracket. It will be something like J120TLCT

The gearcase you are looking at is a direct fit.
You will need to re-use your old shift rod and possibly the upper driveshaft.
