How big is this ding? Does it break the gelcoat and go into the fiberglass? Is the ski painted or just white gelcoat?

1/2"by 2" can see fiberglass, looks like it could have been painted but im not sure. Can i use car fiberglass and auto paint. Im doing the whole hull on the jet ski.

I would suggest using a product called Marinetex, which is available at most marine stores.
It is an epoxy type product that is mixed and is completely waterproof and very strong.
Just mix it and apply it with a plastic squeegy and let it harden. Then wet sand it. It is white and with a good wet sanding it should look very smooth and blend in well, so you may not need to paint it.
If you do want to paint, use marine paint, also available from marine stores, but remember that the finish will be different than the existing gelcoat, although you can come close if you use a clear coat.
