Hi. I have a Maytag Performa model PAV3200AAW washing machine.
The bowl has stopped moving. Water still comes in, but doesn't seem to pump out. There is a light humming noise when I try to operate the machine in a wash part of the cycle, and a louder humming when I use what I think is a draining part of the cycle. The humming noises don't seem to be from the motor turning (as far as I can tell).
I have been trying to take the front panel off to access the belt, just in case it has broken, but am having all sorts of trouble removing the top of this panel. It seems to be bolted to the top part of the machine, and neither will come free.
Anybody could give me some pointers on how to remove this panel, or am I taking the wrong one off?
I know this sounds like a dumb question, and I feel like a dill askingit. It's just that I don't want to damage the machine in removing the panel.
Thanks. Rob.

The belt on this machine is underneath the machine, you have to tip the machine back to access it, also to remove the front you need a putty knife and at the top between the front panel and top about 2 inshes you will feel with the putty knife a spring that you push in while pulling up on the top.
